Facing Redundancy - picture of daughter travelling

Waiting for my 23-year-old daughter at Gatwick arrivals last week, the mood was all ‘Love Actually’.

Families held up sweet home-made signs. Strangers chatted about where their loved ones had been in South-East Asia. I almost expected God Only Knows to kick in over the sound system. 🎶

The young woman who emerged through the doors, rucksacks strapped neatly front and back, was tanned and smiling. She looked older. More ‘in herself’. I ran forward – relief, joy, tears all mixed up in one great big hug.

Three months earlier

So different from when she’d called me from Bangkok at the start of her solo travels!

“What have I done?” she whispered, her voice wobbly and scared. All alone in a new city and petrified.

A fear I recognise

That fear of what on earth is to come is one I hear often with coaching clients at the start of my Work You Love programme – especially those navigating redundancy.

Fear, anxiety, panic, shame. Big feelings that are really hard to carry alone.

The journey through

Work You Love is designed to take you through your own journey of self-discovery as you navigate your new reality, with me right by your side.

And a few weeks or months in, things shift.

You face the fear of losing your job and what it really means to you. You reconnect with the unique gifts you still bring to the world – because they haven’t disappeared, even if it feels that way. Your confidence finds its footing again. And you may even land the perfect next role.

Hear from a past client

“This is my second round of coaching with Katie – my first was ten years ago – I loved it so much I came back.

The experience has been transformational. My skills, capacities and confidence have all improved.

I absolutely love Katie’s coaching style, which she tailored to my needs and situation.  She saw me through the highs and lows of a challenging work situation, helping me navigate the complexities and keep going when things were exceptionally difficult.

We worked on my core values and how to honour them. I learned about ‘clean’ vs ‘triggering’ language during difficult encounters. I learned how to build trust with others.

We set new goals for my future that I’m now fulfilling with renewed passion, hope and motivation.

If you want to invest in you and see your own positive transformation, I can’t recommend her enough.

Thank you Katie”
